Who knew I am such a masochist? To cure my ulcer in time for the wedding (I wanna enjoy my 8-course lunch!!), I decided to put more salt yesterday night before I go to sleep. And today morning after I woke up. I keep telling myself, "The pain is worth it! For the food, Kelvin, for the food!" So, yeah. I am in pain, and I am gonna do it once more before I sleep tonight. Meow!

Anyway, that is not the main point of this blog. SL and Gloria came over today to cook food! They came over at 3+pm to cook "lunch". I think, linner more like (you know, lunch and dinner combined?).

The pictures below show the result of our work in the kitchen.

HaHa! Yep, we made pasta! Gloria's and SL's have chillies in them, and SL added so much chili in her's that she gave up eating halfway. LOL! The girls also made sweet potato soup, but I have no time to drink and fully appreciate the soup, because I gotta prepare to go out with Gloria to Orchard.

We went to Orchard to buy some games for the upcoming chalet. I shan't tell you what, because I want to keep it a surprise... Okay. One little hint. It's something like Saboteur, but more complicated. Hee! I read the rules, and it's quite easy to understand and get the hang of, so don't worry. :D

Right. So, expect more wedding updates, coming up next.

This post is backdated.

Today, I was given an off day, and I was very happy. It meant that I have an "extra" day of leave. So YAY!

I watched Enchanted at AMK Hub with Glor and CQ this morning. It was a good movie, filled with the typical fairytale plotlines, tongue-in-cheek this time. The movie is comedic, and I am glad for the laughs I had. Of course, like all fairytales, it ends on a very sweet happily ever after note, and I really enjoyed the ending. Good work from Disney! :D

Then, I bought a shirt from Natural Project for the upcoming cousin's wedding. After all, you cannot expect me to go in the same pink shirt almost everyone saw me in, right?

Today evening, I was supposed to go swim with Glor and SL. Unfortunately, the rainclouds put a deciding stop to the activity. SL, having found a 4-hours free PartyWorld voucher, suggested a KTV session. And there we went. To sing KTV again. In less than a week.

This time, the girls decided to help cure my mouth ulcers. They managed to find some salt to "cure" the pain. And at the KTV room, I decided to end my pain once and for all... by putting salt on it. There it goes...

OUCH OUCH OUCH OMG OMG OMG PAIN PAIN OUCH OUCH! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE KILL ME? I DON'T WANT TO SUFFER ANYMORE OUCH OUCH OUCH!

I am sure Gloria has a video of this somewhere in her phone. You cats can beg her to release it. It's great fun watching me writhe in pain. Really. (And that is the precise reason why I am the perfect victim to torture...)

We sang until 11.30, and the girls are coming over to my house the next day to torture me again.... Stay tuned to find out.

Midnight KTV
Sunday, November 25, 2007
In a moment of spontaneous madness on Wednesday night, I decided to go to sing KTV with SL and Glor on Friday night.

Well, I am glad I was crazily mad, because I sure did enjoy myself that night! We sang for 6 hours, from 11.50pm Friday night till 5.50am Saturday morning. Wow. That was the most singing I ever did in a karaoke session, and the longest I have ever held onto a mic for. :P I sang until I lost my voice after the session. HeeHee! I think it is the improper use of my singing techniques, switching between using my real voice and my falsetto frequently. Just ask SL and Glor. When singing duets, I switch male and female parts every alternate lines. :P

This is the 3 of us! I think SL has more pictures to show you all, but I shall 埋个罐子. You all shall have to wait for her post (either at her own blog or ASG). :P

Injuries and Lift-Screaming and Stardust
Friday, November 16, 2007
I was guard for yesterday. What an totally different guard experience I had.

Okay. The day started with a great big embarrassing fall. I got on 913, as always, ready on my journey forward to camp, when suddenly, GASP OH NOES, I realized that I didn't put on my belt! In a hurry to get down the bus, Kelvin Yip had a big fall (and all the king's horses and all the king's men, couldn't put Kelvin Yip together again). My bag flew out, my shoes flew out, and I have abrasions on my left palm and my right knee (not to mention a torn No.3 pants too). It was SO embarrassing! Everyone was looking lor. Ayioh.

Anyway, my palm and leg hurt all day. Very irritating. I sat as much as I could, and I was forbidden to climb so much stairs, because what if i fall again and hurt my knee? Anyway, as of now, the wounds seem to be closing up, which is good...

I watched Stardust just now with Gloria and Joyce. Like all movie adaptations of books, this isn't a true reflection of the book. It's more dramatized for the movie effects, and they changed quite a bit of the story, but the general feeling is there all the same. I feel that the book is much more slow and romantic, while the movie is entertaining and exciting. I rate this movie 4/5 meows, and I would really recommend reading the book.

After watching Stardust, I showed a bit of my temper to the public. The three of us were in the back of the jammed-pack lift, and we wanted to get out. Those people hor, buay zhi tong leh. Stand there and tried to shuffle around while I go "excuse me! excuse me! EXCUSE ME!" in raising tones of tenseness. When I am out of the lift, and the two girls are still stuck inside, I got so pek chek and I scolded the people, "Can you people get out of the lift to make way? Will it kill you to come out? Why must you stand in there?" and they were staring at me wide-eyed. My god. Those insolent, inconsiderate idiots. They deserved to be reprimanded at. Ergh.

I am going to play Mahjong later. YAY FOR MAHJONG OMG!

Frances' Wedding
Sunday, November 11, 2007
This post is backdated due to author being unavailable to blog

Today is Frances' (my cousin from my father's side) big night. This is her chinese wedding dinner, her big moment, and I am honored to be invited to take part in it.

I am very surprised to learn that it is taking place in the RELC Hotel, the place where me and Gloria accompanied SL to register for her UOL course. And, I am even more surprised to learn that I am sitting at the head table. O.O!!

Wow. Sitting at the head table is certainly an experience one will rarely get. Seriously. It's so cool to sit at the head table. The plates, utensils, table decoration and the level of service is totally different from the normal table. It's much more exquisite, and so much more cooler. I felt like a king, actually. :D

Ever since I heard from SL that she drank red wine at her cousin's wedding, I have been wanting to try that. And tonight, I got to. But, ergh. The red wine is nice and all, but it has a tad too much alcohol in it. I gave up after drinking 2 glasses. I still need to come to work tomorrow at 4am, and you seriously cannot expect me to launch an aircraft while nursing a hangover. Being a totally responsible person that I am, I had chinese tea for the rest of the dinner. :P

The food is typically Chinese Wedding Dinner food, nothing much to blog about. It's quite nice, actually. I got to drink 2.5 bowls of shark's fin soup, because my table lacks 2 people and nobody wants to drink the extra bowls. YAY!

I wish Frances and Kevin Aw 有一个美满的婚姻,还有,早生贵子。 我要抱你们的baby wor! :D

Jay's New Album
Tuesday, November 6, 2007
I've gotten Jay's new album, 我很忙, today; the first day it hit the shelves of our music stores (after 4 days of an unexplainable delay).

The album is very dynamic, containing a lot of different styles. Jay seems to be experimenting, and produces a good work out of it. I do think that it is much better than his previous album, 依然范特西.

I was actually very excited to get his album, because of "牛仔很忙", the 主打歌 that has been hitting the 93.3 waves these few weeks. That song is very vibrant, and catchy, and it makes me excited for the new album.

I like quite a number of songs from that album, notably "我不配", "甜甜的" and "最長的電影". 我不配 is very popular amongst the general population, being the top favorite song in this album. It has a nice melody, and touching lyrics. I like 甜甜的 for its soft pop-rock flavor, and it makes me wanna groove to the music. I like 最長的電影 for its typical Jay Chou-ness, the overall 感动力 and power of the whole song.

The other songs are typically ok, not too bad. Or maybe it is my tiredness that is affecting my music taste. My sleep debt is growing by the pile, and shit, I am almost dead now...

But I digress. Overall, I rate the album 4/5 stars (OMG SO SHINY!!!). Get it! It's worth the $18.90. :D
