Peggy Hsu's Concert
Sunday, February 28, 2010
Hey! It has been another 2 weeks of not blogging!

Seriously, I should be more self-disciplined. Or rather, I should find MORE time. I hate this semester, seriously. Now, my recess week is totally not looking very recess-y. *grumbles grumbles*

Anyway, I am here to share with you all something!

Yesterday, Leslie and I went to Peggy 许哲佩's concert in the Esplanade! =D

It's a 1-hour mini-concert. She sang mostly songs from her latest album, 雪人, and also popular songs like 气球 and 白色婚礼. It's quite an interesting concert la, I would say, with songs ranging from happy ones to somber ones.

I also got to know more about the singer. From what I observed, she seem like a very happy and cheerful person, and I think she is quite a positive person as well. I think it's interesting that I get to know more about the person singing the songs I like. =)

After the concert, there's an autograph session. LOL! Me and Les actually went to buy her album, 美好的, just to get her signature. Ok la. Not really especially to, since we don't have this particular album of hers in our iPods, but getting her signature is a big plus. =D

Okay, 废话少说, I will now present her autograph and a picture I (actually, it was Leslie, cause he's tall enough to reach above the shoulders of people in front...) took of her at the autograph table. Toodles!

Tiger Year CNY
Sunday, February 14, 2010
Wow. It's a very different first day of CNY, without my father around.

Due to the lack of car, and our inherent laziness, we decided to skip a lot of houses this year for CNY visiting. When I mean a lot, I mean relatives from my father's side. =p

We only went to my maternal grandmother's house in the afternoon, because that's when almost everyone from my mother's side will gather. It's been long since I have almost everyone from that side of the family gathering around for CNY (I always missed them, cause I always go to my grandmother's house late in the afternoon, after they have left), so, it is a refreshing change.

HaHa! The relatives all quizzed us on my father's status, and my mother pushed all the questions to me, cause I can explain better (in English, YAY, cause my mother's cousins and siblings are English-speaking). Yeah. They are all concerned la, which is good. Father will be quite touched to hear that.

After the visit, we (mother, brother and I) went down to TTSH to visit my father, and bring him some CNY cheer from our "reunion dinner" (I can't even call it a proper reunion dinner, with one family member missing...) that we ordered from some restaurant 2 weeks ago. We gave him some shark's fin, abalone, etc, stuff from the 棚菜. Father's quite stable, although we are not sure if the medicine is working yet (he hasn't tried walking, and he can't anyway, he's practically forced to stay on the bed and be bedridden). I guess we will know when the doctors do some CT scans later in the week to see if the medicine's working. I really hope it is...

So yeah. Well, I guess the good thing is that I get to sleep in and wake up really late for 大年初一 this year. I mean, many people has been telling me to look on the bright side... So yeah. Bright side. =)

(Oh, by the way, I am not worried about the lack of 红包s this year, if we skip my father's side. Let's just say that the bulk of my CNY earnings every year come from my mother's side, being the richer side and all...

Ok. I am so bitchy. *shrugs* But hey. It's a fact. =p Bright side people, bright side.)

I should probably end off by wishing everyone some CNY greetings, since I haven't mass send any SMSes and all:

祝大家新年快乐,万事顺利。希望你们在虎年里行大运,如意所愿!我们一起HUAT AR!

What CNY
Friday, February 12, 2010
Well, my father is hospitalized in TTSH. Yeah.

Yesterday, he started feeling breathless while he was walking. Like, really breathless, like when I run 2.4km with all my energy that kinda breathless. It's scary. I persuaded him to go to the polyclinic today with Mother, and the next thing I know, he's sent to TTSH's A&E.

The doctor said that there are blood clots in his lungs, and that restricts the blood flow to his lungs, causing the breathlessness. It is serious la, but stable.

Thankfully, he doesn't need surgery. The doctors are confident that they will be able to get rid of the blood clots using medication. So right now, they are administering that and finding out the causes of the blood clots. The doctors said if he response well and can recover, he might be able to be discharged within a week.

But yeah. It's gonna be a totally different CNY. First time in my life that the whole family is not spending CNY together. Feels weird, and lousy.

What CNY indeed.

Updates to My Life!

OMG!

I can't believe it! I actually didn't blog for like 3 weeks already!!! This is almost like a month of negligence! OMG! I am so horrified!

Actually, not really that horrified. This just goes to show how BUSY I am this semester. With 19 AUs of project-intensive modules, one can basically die this semester.

But I am quite shocked though, that I could be busy until I neglected to blog. Actually hor, I kept thinking of entries to blog one. There are some occasions where I really thought I should blog about, but when I reached home, work overtook me and blogging was quickly forgotten. My god.

Anyway, in short, these few things happened to me during the last 3 weeks:

1) I have gotten my NBS elective, Cultural Intelligence at Work. It's a very interesting module. The content is very interesting, and I like learning about cultures and what roles they play in the world at large. Also, I get to develope my CQ (cultural quotient, not BFF =p), a very important skill for the increasingly diverse workforce. The class is made up of majority exchange students, and so, I got to interact a lot with people from different cultures. In my group, there are 3 Norwegian girls, 1 Dutch guy, 1 German guy and 1 year 3 Tourism local girl (The class is made out of HR and Tourism locals, and me and my friend are the only Year 2 students... lol!). It's a very interesting mix of cultures, and I am learning a lot of these 3 unique European cultures and practices as the week goes by. But this is a very coursework-intense module, so yeah, a lot A LOT A LOT of work....

2) I have done 1 HR Research mini-project, did 1 Accounting tutorial presentation, 1 Selection & Assessment mini-project and in the midst of doing my Accounting project and trying to secure a client to interview for my S&A module... OMG!

3) Despite my busy schedule, I took some days off to SHOP! I have completed my CNY outfit, and currently in the midst of buying new t-shirts to wear for the other days of visiting (in case my 初一 t-shirt cannot dry on time). I am quite excited for my new look! Must 期待 for the pictures wor! =D

4) I applied for NUH and Changi Airport Group for my Professional Attachment at the end of this semester. I hope I can get either, cause I hope to be successful at Phase 1 and I don't need to go to Phase 2 and go through all these torture all over again. :(

Haha! That's almost all ba! Meow at you all next time, which hopefully, isn't gonna be another 3 weeks later. =p
