Procrastination Kills Me (So Does Mahjong)
Sunday, March 29, 2009
So, today, I was supposed to be revising for my Stats and Econs quizzes (happening this coming Monday and Tuesday respectively) and start writing something for my Marketing essay, which is due on 6th April.I was supposed to. Instead, I spent the day watching all my TV shows. (Yes, Grey's Anatomy rocks my world again, and OMG DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES OMG OMG OMG!)
And today, SL and Gloria came to my house from their tennis lesson to play mahjong. We asked WQ to come play too. We played till about 8.30, and then we went to eat our late late dinner @ KFC Causeway Point.
I seriously felt so sinful. Like, omg what am I doing?
I should really stop all frivolous activities. Like, starting now.
And I should start revising. NOW!
P/s: To all ASG members: I have posted the itinerary for the upcoming ASG Chalet. Do take a look and give some comments, k? Looking forward to the chalet! =D
Weather
Friday, March 27, 2009
So, right. I am surfing my web, sipping the soy drink my mother bought for me at the market, when I heard a loud crack of thunder. And I looked out of the window. I see clear blue sky, with no clouds in sight. How could it be, I thought.
So, I went over to the other side of the house, opened the front door, and saw a sky full of black, dark and ominous clouds.
There exists two different weather systems, separated by a width of a HDB block. I am like O.o.
Well, at least I don't have to take the clothes out to dry anymore.
I should really be preparing to go to school. This is the first time, since I started university, that I am going to a lesson from my home (I came home last night because I had to deliver WQ's present). This is like, so interesting. =)
There goes the thunder again.
Grey's Anatomy - Stand By Me
Saturday, March 21, 2009
I swear. I cannot proclaim enough love for Grey's Anatomy.I cry at every single episode. Every. Single. One.
Izzie and her melanoma. Her friends standing by her. What Cristina did. I seriously cannot describe. My mind is full of images and scenes and omg, I so badly want to watch it again and cry again.
Sleep is worth sacrificing for this.
"I think you came to me for help, and that's what I did. Because sometimes we win, Izzie. And I want you to fight. For whatever that's worth, I want you to fight." - Cristina Yang
Marketing Stress
Thursday, March 19, 2009
It's 12:30am. I wanna sleep. I really really wanna kun. But, I still have marketing to do. And I totally don't know what to do. I mean, I feel so lost. And helpless. Very 无助.
Probably because I am kinda stressed. I feel that I am the weakest team member in my marketing group lor. I mean, come on. I am supposed to do some slides on BMW's Mini Cooper, on their company and their customer segment.
Simple analysis right? Sounds easy right? Not.
Not when the case is set in 2002. Not when you have so much freaking difficulty trying to find data, which is 7 years old, on the Internet. Things like market share. Customer segment. What the freak.
Compared with powerhouses like Andy and Jerome, I feel like I am so damn weak and useless lor. Confirm kena niao-ed one, if I show up at Marketing meeting totally lost. Even if not niao-ed straight in the face, will get talked about behind my back de.
I know, I normally don't do the comparing shit. I don't compare. But, when you are a weak team member working with people who have high abilities and high expectations of their team-mates, the stress is very very real.
I am stuck. I really don't know what to do. I want to teach Jerome Econs. NOW. Get my mind off things.
I hate Mini Cooper.
Growth - GA
Saturday, March 14, 2009
I love Grey's Anatomy. I really do. I take away a little bit of something at the end of every episode. This episode, I marveled at how much our characters have grown.
Take for example, Meredith. From the Grey's Anatomy's script writers' blog, "Meredith’s reaction to it all was infused with a maturity and strength that was five seasons in the making. She didn’t crumple to the ground sobbing, she told him to do his worst, because she’s not going anywhere. She knows he’s drunk and angry, she knows he’s lashing out at her because that’s what you do when you’re drunk and angry and filled with self-loathing, you lash out at the last people in the world you should be lashing out at, the people you love and most importantly, she knows Derek doesn’t mean it. She knows he’s at his lowest, professionally, personally…so she’s not gonna bail on him. She’s gonna let him have his little “the world is a better place without me operating in it” tantrum and when the dust settles, Mer’s still gonna be standing there, supporting him. Because that’s what you do in a relationship. That’s what you do in a marriage. For better or for worse, right?"
Our Meredith has grown. She would have bailed from Derek if this happened in the earlier seasons. Totally ran away. But she didn't. She won't. She grew.
Alex grew. It's heartwarming to see how he has matured throughout the seasons. Now, he is a second-year resident who made a life-saving correct diagnosis, and getting his due recognition for it. It's also heartwarming to see how much he loves Izzie. He has grown, emotionally and medically.
The crappy bunch of interns we saw in Season 4 also grew. They correctly diagnosed Izzie's condition. This is the first time in 2 seasons we finally see them doing something right. They learned so much out of this, and I am excited to see how they will progress next.
I love Grey's Anatomy. It excites me, it saddens me, it cheers me up, and best of all, it lets me take away a lot of life's lessons.
Expose! At The Laundry Room!
Thursday, March 12, 2009
OMG! I have personally witnessed a heinous crime!See. It never happened to me. But my hall friends kena-ed. Their laundry were thrown out of the washing machine, and the fact was they went down on time to collect back their clothes. We timed the washing process so well, we know the exact minute to collect my clothes back. And, yet, our laundry is out of the machine.
Today, I found out the reason why.
I was putting my clothes in the only available washing machine. The other 3 were still washing the other loads. In come an Indian national with a basket of clothes as well.
Normally, people would just look at the full machines, and then resolved to come back at a later time. Not him.
He went to the first machine, and attempted to STOP the machine.
Right in front of me.
I was staring at him, and yet, he remained unrepentant. I saw how he stopped the washing process, and wait for the water to drain, and take out all the clothes and placed it on top of another washing machine. He then proceeded to put in his own load.
I am shocked, and enlightened. Now I know WHY these things would occur. This is due to INCONSIDERATE BASTARDS like him.
I wonder if he was on scholarship, with the help of our great nation. Even if he wasn't, he would have benefited from the government grant anyway. I seriously think that the money has been flushed down the toilet. Yes, the government nurtured him, our "foreign talent" - academically-inclined, but morally-deprived.
He should definitely be shot.
WQ's 22nd Birthday
Sunday, March 8, 2009
Yet another ASG member turned 2 this year. On March 7th, it was WQ's turn to join Gloria in the old(er) age of 22! ASG held a celebration for him at Aston @ The Cathay.

Quite a number ordered Double Up Chicken, cause SL and WQ warned that the portions were small. I ordered Grilled Sirloin, cooked medium rare.

After eating our fill, it was time for the all important ceremony: cake-cutting and the present-giving. HaHa!

We stayed on at Aston for quite a while to eat our cake, and take a lot of random photographs. Here are some of them.

Here's a shot of the

After Ashton, we wanted to move on to the famous tau huay store at Selegie, but after taking a very fatal turn and making the rest of the ASG venture into Bugis, we all decided to go to the Ah Chiew Desert Store.
But alas! Luck was not meant to be, for Ah Chiew was full to the brim with customers. We settled for this HK-style store a few stores down. I ordered my 杏仁湖...

AYIOH! I am never going back there again la. The 杏仁湖 is absolutely horrendous. It's too watery, and somemore, it's more expensive than Ah Chiew's! My Ah Chiew's 杏仁湖 is so heavenly, and cheaper lor. :(
After that, XC, SL and PY came to my house to play overnight mahjong. =D
ASG certainly had an enjoyable night, and once again, happy 22nd Birthday to WQ (aka, LuLu)! :D
P/s: The rest of the photos can be viewed here. =D
Lazy Kids
Sunday, March 1, 2009
Youths of today are spiraling downwards into the sin of sloth, i.e., they are becoming more and more lazy.So I was traveling down my block in the lift, en route back to my hall.
Then, the lift stopped at the second floor. The doors opened, and I saw 2 kids waiting for the lift. As the lift was full, they decided not to enter.
I am like, annoyed. I mean, they are young, primary school kids. Why are they not walking down 2 flights of stairs when they have the energy and capability to? It's not like they are old or paralyzed or carrying heavy items. They are wasting our time, and they are wasting their own time (I mean, come on. For the duration they waited for the lift, they could have bounded down the stairs already). And trust me, from the way they are growing, they need the exercise.
That's why I say kids these days are so spoiled. Tsk.
