Counting Down to ORD
Tuesday, February 26, 2008
As I was walking home today, a thought came into my mind.I have only 51 days left to my ORD. It seems so far far away. 51 more agonising days to go through...
However, something came to my mind, and I realized that it isn't that far away after all.
On January 1st 2008, there were 108 days to my ORD. On January 1st, I spent my first few hours of the year with Colin and Khooty watching fireworks, and then meeting the ASG for a late late supper.
Now, half of the period past. Half. I was overcame with shock and surprise. It seemed like days ago that I was watching the bright fireworks illuminating the dark skies of 2008. And now, I reached my halfway mark already.
That gives me hope, that my ORD is near. It's very near. Within a blink of an eye, in 18th April, I will be wondering "50 days past so fast. It seems like days ago I was only blogging about 50 more days to ORD...". Yeah....
But as the old saying goes, so near, yet so far. 60+ days may have past since 010108, but 51 days is still a daunting figure. 51 more agonizing days to go. 51 is such a huge number. 7 weeks and 2 days more. 14 more weekends. (God. Exactly the same length as my BMT period.)
I really really can't wait.
P/s: I realized something. When the figure was a 3-digit (700+... 600+... 200+...), I couldn't really be bothered to countdown. Maybe the figure is still too huge to deal with, and it was not worth agonizing myself to countdown from such a big number. As the number dwindle to a 2-digit figure, one does tend to perk up and start the slow and agonizing wait. But I should comfort myself. I made it through 680 days. What's another 50 days, right?
First 21st in ASG
Monday, February 25, 2008
Woah. I took leave from 22nd to 25th Feb to celebrate Gloria's birthday, and also to take a breather (and use up my leave :P). I certainly had been quite busy for these 4 days. Today is my last day of leave, and I am now nua-ing at home after the hectic 3 days of activities.
I went out with my air force friends on 22nd to watch L: Change The World, a spin-off from the Death Note movies. It's quite an okay-ish movie. It doesn't quite measure up to the hype and glory of the previous 2 Death Note movies. L could have played a bigger role in this movie; I didn't see much of his ingenuity in this movie. Kinda disappointing, but an okay movie of its own right. I would give this 3/5 meows.
Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that we went to Mind's Cafe to play some games before the movie. It was great, and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. :D
On Saturday, ASG held a celebration for Gloria's 21st Birthday! :D She's the first out of the ASG to reach 21, and now, she is the Mother Duck of all. Quack quack meow! :D
ASG came to my house early afternoon to prepare for the party. We made decorations for the venue and the gift, and we wrote our wishes on the card. After that, we made our way to Admiralty Party to lay out our surprise for the birthday girl.
And it worked! She didn't see it coming at all! :D After cutting and eating the cake there, we proceed to our next destination.
We went to River City Restaurant to have our dinner. It's a buffet-styled dinner, and we certainly ordered a lot of dishes. I felt so full at the end, my god. But the food was nice, so no complains there.
After dinner, we walked around the area to digest our food. We went up to fort Canning (and disturbed one couple LOL :P), and then made our way to Clarke Quay; where we walked around the pubs and bars and clubs, absorbing the nightlife that many of us in ASG hardly ever experienced. We then went home after a whole day of fun.
The event was a success. Mother Duck was very pleased by our 心意, and well, all I can say is that well, we would do anything for our friends. :D
Then yesterday, I met Colin, Khooty and Leslie to watch Juno. It's a movie about a high school girl going through an unwanted pregnancy. The lines are witty and funny, and had the cinema guffawing in laughter quite often. Amidst the joy and laughter, therein lies a rather real story about the important choices one have to make in such difficult situation. I feel for Juno in every step of the way. While I might not agree with her choices (I would have done things differently), but I understand why she would make them. This movie is a bit draggy, but a must-watch. 4 out of 5 meows!
After the movie, Colin, Leslie and I went to Manhattan Fish Market to eat our dinner. The seafood platter we had was quite ok, but I prefer Fish&Co's better. I used my POSB Mastercard to pay, and woah, I didn't know that there's a 10% discount for POSB cards. A point to take note in the future wor. :D
And today. Finally a day to rest. :D Meow!
Height Increase
Sunday, February 17, 2008
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!I cannot believe it; but believe it I must! I have WONDROUS news to share!
Announcing my new height: 1.58m. That's right! That's an increase of 4cm since J2!
I know right? Like, totally, so cool!
Actually, I already suspected this long ago. Like, when I stand next to people who are 1.6+m tall, I don't see that we have a 10+cm difference in height. And, just now, having a lack of things to do, I went to measure my height, to confirm my suspicions.
You cannot believe how happy I was. Or rather, am. OMG I GREW 4CM!!!
This also means that my BMI is lowered. My new BMI is 18! OMG THIS IS SO GREAT! I am like, thin. Thin. YAY!
This is a cause for celebrations!! :D :D :D
My Special Lunch
Wednesday, February 13, 2008
YAY! I am on off today. Feeling very very hungry (like, I haven't had a proper meal for like 20+ hours. YAY for slimming via dieting! :P), I decided to cook lunch for myself. When I step into the kitchen and saw something, I have a sudden flash of inspiration. BANG!!!! And this dish was created:

Guess what this is.
A roti prata? No. Fried egg? Partially right. Fried egg with hot dogs? WRONG.
This is.... fried eggs with bak kwa. 炒蛋加肉干. Like, totally cool right? I saw bak kwa on the kitchen counter, and suddenly, I realized that I could add pieces of bak kwa into scrambled eggs, like what I did with hot dogs. :D

So, tada! This is my complete meal. :D I am such a creative cook, oui?
CNY Report
Thursday, February 7, 2008
Squeak! Squeak!! The year of the rat has descended upon us all at the stroke of midnight today, and well, 20hours have passed, and here's my report of what happened during those 20 hours.I slept at 2.30am, after being hooked on this very funny Channel U comedy-variety show thingy. My god. I was splitting my sides while laughing like mad. :P
I woke up at 8+, and after eating some buns for breakfast and bathing, the whole family is ready to set off at 10+ for our annual CNY house visiting.
We went to 5 houses this year. Ayiah. To tell the truth hor, I am a bit lazy to describe each and every one of the visitations I made. Just that there were times when I was utterly bored outta my mind (I was like, practically stoning you know), and there were times when I was enjoying myself a lot.
This year's hongbao collection was quite a lot. If I remember correctly, this is the year with quite a large windfall for me. YAY! This of course, means more money into the HK trip (and of course, my uni expenses). :D
We came back at 4+, and I proceed to slack until now. Dinner was Pizza Hut. Like, totally uninteresting. Yeah. I wasted myself all night long playing Mahjong on ViWaWa. Treat it as practice for the coming mahjong sessions on 初三吧! :D Prepare to "share your hongbao money", fellow ASG! Muahahahaha!! :P
Okay. Enough meowing around for now. Gotta go sleep! Goodnight my lovelies! :D
New Shoes
Wednesday, February 6, 2008
Due to a stroke of luck, I have garnered enough money today to buy myself a pair of shoes, completing my outfit to buy for CNY.Joyce agreed to come down to Causeway Point to aid me in my shopping, so really have to thank her for that! :D
We went to practically all the shoe shops in Causeway Point, and I finally chose the first pair me and Joyce saw in Royal Sporting House.
I, being the gracious cat, decided that I shouldn't 吊your胃口too much, so I have decided to post a picture of my new shoes!!
Don't worry, cats. You all will see the complete New Year outfit on 初三 for the ASG outing. I'll try to post pictures, so all the cats can see me! :D

Oh yes, before I end my post...
Return to PJ and Mother's Birthday
Tuesday, February 5, 2008
Today is, luckily, my guard off, and I went back to PJ with some of my JC classmates to talk to our teachers. HaHa! It's very relaxing to talk to Mr Tham, Mdm Goh and Mrs Leong again. We made a lot of jokes. It's really nice to catch up with the teachers after we leave college.
After leaving PJ at 1+, I walked to the 187 bus-stop. Walking that route certainly brings back a lot of memories. I walked that route with so many friends during my 2 years in JC; I can't help but remember the sachets of conversations I had with them. Not surprisingly, I still remembered the way even after 2 years. That path represents the path in life I have trodden upon; and I am glad that I did. No regrets.
Today is also my mother's birthday. Her birthday always comes near the CNY holidays. If I remember correctly, it once fell on the 除夕 or 初一. Wa. Anyway, Happy Birthday Mother! :D
CNY Shopping
Sunday, February 3, 2008
After weeks and weeks of moaning of having not enough money to buy my CNY clothes, guess what? I finally do.Due to the good graces of the SAF, they gave us our pay yesterday, and I used the money to pamper myself to some new clothes.
Me and my
After much deliberation, we moved to Marina Square, and wow. We can totally breathe there lor. I ended up buying my CNY clothes there, after spending like 2+hours choosing.
No, I shan't reveal what I bought. I shall SHOW you all. After CNY. :P
I must express my thanks to the ever so patient BFF of mine, for shopping with me the whole day. :D
