French Post
Sunday, March 30, 2008
If you guys notice, at the right side of my blog, I have changed the titles to French. I thought having a mix of English and French titles would be weird. A thought just came to me. I would very much hope that someday, I would be able to write a full post in French. (Ha. I am struggling with Chinese, my native language. French? :P) I really really do wish that I can do it.
And you know what? I will. I will learn French, and I will be proficient in it. Just watch me. :D
P/s: Here's the translations for the titles.
Mon Profil - My Profile
Du Conseil - Some Advice
Nous Parlons - We Talk
Mes Amis - My Friends
Mes Mémoires - My Memories
La Reconnaissance - The Credits
La Musique - The Music
Lame Jokes
Saturday, March 29, 2008
Okay. I told you guys about the lame jokes Joyce made in the last time we went to eat supper right?A flash of inspiration suddenly came upon me. Like, you know, the bulb flashing overhead? Yeah. Those.
I decided to share the jokes!!! You all can die of lameness.
1) Saddam Hussien, George W Bush, Mas Selamat and Osama Bin Laden were playing mahjong. Who won?
2) Is Mas Selamat male or female? Why?
3) (Warning: This is a bit racist. No offense meant, k?) A chinese man marries 5 African wives. Give me a 成语.
Have fun guessing! :D
Late Night Supper and Little Sleep Time
Friday, March 21, 2008
Yesterday night, I went out to eat supper with Joyce, CQ and WQ at the Teh Tarik House in Marsiling. Yes. I am crazy enough to travel to Marsiling to eat supper with the cats. Why do I love my friends so much? Why? Anyway, I had fun talking to them. I got to learn a lot of very lame jokes from Joyce, and I can't stop laughing. OMG. I am like, totally lame.Anyway, that's not my main post.
After coming back from supper (and catching the last train and bus), I reached home at 1+, and went to sleep at 1.30am.
Here comes the shocking part. (To me, at least.) I naturally woke up at 8.45am. I was like, SO SHOCKED. I mean, I only slept for 7 hours. I used to be able to sleep for 14. And now, I am waking up so early. My god. I am so shocked. Why??? O.o!
So yes. This is the main point of my post. :P

New Camera / WQ's Celebration @ Airport
Sunday, March 9, 2008
Meow meow! Hey! Guess what? I bought a new camera!
Introducing my new Fujifilm Finepix Z5, bought for $199 at the IT Fair on Friday, 7th March. :D I am very pleased with my camera. It produces good-quality pictures, simply a steal for its offer price of $199. Someone commented that its features exceeded its price (normal price at $300+), and I couldn't agree more.
(Warning, this post will be quite image-heavy, as I took a lot of photos during yesterday's events.)
Yesterday, ASG went to Changi Airport to hold another mini-birthday celebration for WQ.
We met at Woodlands Station, and then we took bus 858 to go down to Changi.

We arrived at T3, and we went to Popeye for dinner. But alas, the place was full and the queue was long. After some moments of deliberation, we decided to go to Swensen upstairs. Below are some photos I took along the way of Changi Airport's new Terminal 3.

Well, T3's Swensen was equally crowded with a long queue snaking out from the entrance. The prices were also exorbitant. Wow. T3. Commercialization and inflation. Woe. So, we decided to go down to T2 to take a look at more food choices.
Note. It's already close to 9, and our stomachs were rumbling.

We finally decided on Fish&Co for our dinner option. We trooped in there, sat down and then decided what fishy meals we wanted for our dinner. We also saw something interesting, and an idea popped into our heads...
Meanwhile, CQ's mussels came...

Then mine and SL's Seafood Platter For 2...

We also ordered a Mermaid Freeze. It was such a big glass of drink. Really big. Here's Joyce and PY sharing one glass.

We ate our food without much furore. Except, that the calamari in our Seafood Platter were utterly cold, and they gave us another plate. Which is about equally cold as well. Oh well. Anyway, the Seafood Platter was nice. I like it better than Manhattan's.

Heh Heh. After we all had our fill, it's time to put our devious plan in action. You see, we witnessed a very fine Fish&Co's tradition. They would put the birthday boy/girl on top of a chair/table, give them sparklers, and they would do a very funny and nice birthday cheer to the lucky person. And well... this outing is to celebrate WQ's birthday after all.... So....

We did that to WQ, aka, LuLu. LOL LOL! The staff couldn't take it, for singing "Happy Birthday to LuLu". They were laughing and laughing, but still gave us a very great cheer! LOL. We have been telling each other since Gloria's birthday, there will be karma. LOL. But hey. Karma is many months away. We can worry about that later. Right, guys? :D
After the whole cheer, we gave WQ a small slice of cake we bought at Secret Recipe, as a form of "birthday cake". We bought chocolate and banana cake, and it was nice. LOL. WQ keeps passing it around because he can't finish, not after a full meal he had just now.

After our adventure at Fish&Co, we went home via 858. I certainly enjoyed myself last night. Did you all? :D
Mahjong Wins and WQ's Birthday
Sunday, March 2, 2008
On Friday night, I went to ZiChao's house to play Mahjong with YaoFeng, Eugene and Kelvin Pang. Wa. I won quite big during that session, and I was pleased with myself. I made about 4 pure 平胡s, and one of them is a 门清平胡. Woah. 4/5tais keep coming in lor. And the rest I won with 臭平胡, which isn't so bad with the flowers/animals added in. Actually hor, I feel quite lucky, because I was able to self-draw a lot of cards, and turn a lousy hand into a winning hand (or near-winning, in the rounds I lost). And most of the time when I 平胡, I self-draw the middle card, which is extremely lucky of me.
Even when I lost, I don't feel bad, because most of the time, I was waiting for the last card liao, so more or less, I nearly won.
I found out that hor, waiting for a 碰碰胡 is harder than waiting for a 平胡. I don't know leh. Once, I wanted to play 碰碰胡, but then cards which I can form a 平胡 with keep coming my way. Heng la, I won that round. In fact, I won using the last tile in the game, which is extremely lucky for me. In hindsight, I should have gone for a 平胡 instead. I could have won. Earlier. :P
So, this game was one of the most satisfying mahjong game I ever played. :D
Just now, I went to WQ's house with the ASG to celebrate his birthday. He invited us, his army friends and his relatives over for a mini-celebration. LOL. We spent like 6 hours there, mostly playing games. I am glad we got along quite well with his army friends, and were able to play games with them, otherwise hor, the scene would be awkward already. Heh. I had fun la, so, thank you WQ, for inviting me to your party. :D Make up your mind to where you wanna go on Sat hor. :P
